Carpenter Ant (Camponotus)
Carpenter Ants are among the largest of the ants, from 1/4- to 3/8 of an inch long. The most common species is black, but some have reddish or yellowish coloration. Carpenter Ants swarm from spring to fall. They forage in yards, porches, patios and occasionally inside homes. Because of their swarming, they are often mistaken for termites. They prefer to establish nests in areas where wood has been exposed to severe moisture. Unlike termites, Carpenter Ants do not eat the wood in which they nest. They merely dig into the wood to excavate their nests.
Carpenter Ants clean out their nesting sites and galleries by removing all excess wood. Discarded material that resembles sawdust called “Frass” can often be identified and help to determine where the colony is located.
Unlike Termites, Carpenter Ants usually do not cause serious structural damage to houses and buildings. However, if left untreated, these ants can cause extreme damage over time.

Our Ant Exterminator uses a combination of Ant Traps, Granular Bait, Ant Killer, Liquid Bait and Residual Insecticide to treat.
Worker ants tend to bring the bait back to their colonies, where it is shared amongst the other ants. Therefore, the bait is evenly distributed throughout the colony, effectively eliminating it completely. This solution is very effective for getting rid of black ants in your kitchen.
Liquid Residual Insecticide is applied into the cracks and crevices to ensure that the ants cannot move throughout the structure.
Dependable Exterminating technicians understand the habits of each ant species and use that knowledge when developing an ant control treatment plan best suited to your home or office. Our technicians are state certified, licensed applicators and are required to participate in regular training programs in order to keep them up to date on the most current pest control advancements.
